Kavrepalanchowk, January 1: A newly-constructed stone paved road in Pipalchaur Model Village of Ward no. 2 of Namobuddha Municipality has been handed over to the local community.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) Sushil Gyewali handed over the road at the model village, which was constructed with assistance from the NRA, amidst a function today. There are 80 households of the Newar community in this model village.
Speaking at the function, CEO Gyewali suggested the local community to run home stay facilities by keeping intact the originality of the traditional village.
The NRA Rs. 13.2 million and the locals contributed labor worth Rs. 3.4 million to build this 500 meters long and 20 feet wide stone paved thoroughfare.
Former head of the NRA’s Central Level Project Implementation Unit (Building) and Project Director of the High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of the Bagmati Civilization Nabaraj Pyakurel praised the locals’ participation in constructing this attractive thoroughfare.
Chair of the Model Village Users’ Committee Mohan Das Shrestha thanked the NRA for providing support to improve the historic integrated settlement.
