Kathmandu, July 13: Chairperson and members of the Development and Technology Committee of the House of Representatives paid an inspection visit to Dharahara, Kasthamandap and Ranipokhari today. They also received latest updates on the retrofitting of Singha Durbar.

The inspection visit, headed by Chairperson of the Committee Kalyani Kumari Khadka, acquired updates on the reconstruction of various heritage sites in the capital which were badly damaged during the April 2015 earthquake.

After the field visit, the members of the federal parliament received updates on the retrofitting of Singha Durbar at the meeting hall of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA).

Chairperson Khadka expressed satisfaction over the reconstruction works despite various problems. She also assured of any assistance from the Committee in solving any existing problems.

Chief Executive Officer of the NRA Sushil Gyewali informed the parliamentarians that the NRA has been undertaking the reconstruction of these monuments adopting necessary security measures in light of the pandemic.

He also thanked the members of the parliamentary committee for providing necessary support and guidance in continuing the reconstruction works.
