Kathmandu, November 6: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has set a last deadline to receive the government grant for reconstruction and retrofitting. The NRA Executive Committee meeting held today took this decision.
As per the decision, the existing beneficiaries have to sign the grant agreement by the end of Mangsir (mid-December 2020) and receive the first tranche of the grant by 15 Poush (30 December).
The beneficiaries who have already received the first tranche but yet to rebuild their houses will have to start reconstruction and apply to the concerned local governments for certification to receive the second tranche by the end of Magh (12 February 2021).
All the reconstruction and retrofitting beneficiaries have to apply to the concerned local governments for certification to receive the third tranche by the end of Baisakh 2078 (mid-May 2021).
As the tenure of the NRA is coming to an end now, this new deadline would be the last one, according to Manohar Ghimire, Deputy Spokesperson of the NRA. “Therefore, we request all the reconstruction and retrofitting beneficiaries to contact the concerned local governments if they have not signed the grant agreement and receive the tranches.”
The NRA also called upon the retrofitting beneficiaries who want to rebuild new houses to immediately contact the NRA’s District Level Project Implementation Unit (Building).
