The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has published a special issue on Nepal’s reconstruction and recovery in Vikas, a publication of the National Planning Commission (NPC).
The first volume of this special issue has been published with the aim of sharing lessons learned from Nepal’s experience in post-disaster reconstruction and recovery, following the 2015 Mw 7.8 Gorkha, Nepal earthquake.
This volume has been compiled under the auspices of the NRA in collaboration with the NPC.
The papers included in Vikas cover a number of important areas of reconstruction, including private housing, cultural heritage, governance and other cross-cutting issues. It is believed that these papers will be useful to researchers, policy makers, students and general practitioners engaged in the fields of disaster management and disaster risk reduction, as well as to advocates and practitioners of disaster risk-informed development planning.
The papers published in the publication will serve as a mirror reflecting how Nepal completed its reconstruction after the 2015 Mw 7.8 Gorkha, Nepal earthquake.
