Kathmandu, October 24: Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority Sushil Gyewali held a meeting with Nepal Army officials to discuss the status of the reconstruction of the army headquarters and other structures damaged in the earthquake.
Major General (technical) of the Nepal Army Yogendra Bahadur Khand informed that 96 percent work has been completed in reconstructing the army headquarters while reconstruction of Birendra Army Hospital, structures housing Sainik Prahari Battalion, Bhairab Nath Battalion and Ganesh Dal Battalion is currently on-going under the multi-year plan.
CEO Gyewali praised the army’s role in rescue, relief and rehabilitation after the April 2015 earthquake and said that the NRA was always positive towards the reconstruction of the army structures. “The NRA would continue to assist the Nepal Army in rebuilding its structures to be earthquake-resilient,” he said. Gyewali also requested the army delegation to complete the reconstruction in the given time frame and make the overall reconstruction activities transparent.
