Kavre, November 25: Three newly-reconstructed buildings of Shree Gramonnati High School in Ward no. 5 of Mahabharat Rural Municipality were inaugurated yesterday and handed them over to the concerned local government and school management committee.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority Sushil Gyewali inaugurated the buildings by unveiling a plaque.
The construction company handed over the reconstructed structures to the NRA’s Central Level Project Implementation Unit (Education) and the latter handed them over to the local government.
There are altogether 21 rooms in the new buildings, including classrooms, office, science and computer laboratory and a library. There are separate toilets for boys, girls and differently-able and drinking water facilities. Necessary furniture has also been managed for the classrooms, office, laboratory and library.
NRA CEO Gyewali said that the educational standard in the school will be upgraded along with the newly-reconstructed modern physical facilities. He stressed on the coordinated efforts from all three tiers of government, teachers, guardians and concerned stakeholders to improve the standard of education.
Secretary at the NRA Ramkrishna Sapkota stressed on the need on proper utilization of the new facilities and improve the education standard.
Chairperson of Mahabharat Rural Municipality Kanchha Lal Jimba expressed satisfaction over the construction of modern school buildings and hoped that other schools too would be reconstructed soon.
Contracting company Sharma-Swachhanda-Khani JV constructed the buildings at the cost of Rs. 117.718 million budget allocated by the government with additional loan from the Asian Development Bank.
The teachers, students and guardians attending the inauguration ceremony expressed happiness over the construction of new buildings. “It will be fun to study in these new buildings,” said Sanjiv Waiba, a class 10 student.
Member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly Ratna Dhakal, Project Director of CLPIU (Education) Ramsharan Sapkota and Deputy Director Dr. Yubaraj Poudel also attended the inauguration and handover ceremony held at the school premises.
